Shawn at the wheel

Artist Statement

I love to make pottery that has some ‘action’ to it…that has some ‘motion’ in it.  Round is boring.  Without the movement in the clay, the piece doesn’t speak to me.  When I sit down at the wheel, I have an idea in mind, but (as silly as it sounds) I let the clay ‘speak’ to me.  In every lump of clay, there is an intrinsic shape that remains to be found.  When I sit at the wheel, my job…my goal…is to find that shape and to make it happen.

I love the communion set Shawn recently made for me! It is so beautiful. Shawn took special care throughout the creative process listening for my preferences: from drafting the design to shaping the lovely aesthetic lines to mixing the shades of blue in the glaze. I highly recommend Shawn for his gifted artistry. Thank you Shawn! The set is a real blessing and will be a special means of blessing for others.

WOW!!!  I feel honored to have one of your pieces of pottery and appreciate this beautiful work of art.  Many thanks again for your creative work!

Completely satisfied with my purchase. Custom-made specifically per my requests. Highly recommended.

My pitcher arrived today. It’s even nicer than I anticipated. Loved the color and the design. I will order again and would recommend it to others!

LOVE THIS! Can’t wait to buy more.  Even more beautiful in person. I couldn’t be more please with this purchase.  Stunning craftsmanship and an amazingly beautiful item! Thanks so much!

I just wanted to let you know, that my mom was genuinely pleased and excited with the teapot!  The colors look amazing in the kitchen and she was excited and cannot wait to use it to make a pot of tea.  🙂  I wanted to let you know and to say thank you again for making this piece.  🙂
